We woke to a few inches of snow this morning. Weeee! Soon after we were partying on the deck with our new friend - snow dude....who lost his nose and left eye about an hour ago. bye bye snow dude.

derailed...rerailed

After two weeks and not much success, Z's bed is a crib again.  He seemed pretty excited to have the 4th wall back on his bed, but then - all change is good (and exciting) to this toddler.  I've slowly realized that we need to get out of the house every morning. Today, things are going well: we dropped off J at the airport, played at home for a couple of hours, bought Z a new jacket at REI, then ate lunch with a friend.

Eating out is a rarity - too many unknowns, too much potential for allergens. But, today's experience taught me that as long as we can find fresh fruit, raw veggies, and bacon - we're golden.

Not only was it nice to have a wonderful reuben sandwich, to catch up with a good friend, and to get out of the house, Z fell asleep in the car on the way home so I can relax for a couple hours.

One step backwards, two steps forwards.
